The Marine Aquarium and Reef Society of Houston (MARSH) would like to invite you to participate in Reef Currents 2020 located in Houston, TX on May 2, 2020 from 10am - 5pm. Reef Currents is an opportunity for reef aquarists to come together for a day of shopping, education, conversation, raffles and family fun. With vendors from across the nation, 3 renowned industry experts speaking, and a raffle, we have something for everyone. Please take a moment to review and complete this application for the opportunity to join us as a vendor.


Vendor Terms & Conditions for Reef Currents 2020


Within this document it is to be understood that the terms MARSH and “our” refer to The Marine Aquarium and Reef Society of Houston. The terms “you, your and yours” refer to the vendor. The term “host” refers to the Sheraton North Houston.


Booth Assignment

Booths will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. Booth location will be assigned once full payment for the space is received. MARSH reserves the right to reassign booths at our discretion. Banners will be allowed across any available pipe and drape.

All cords must be taped down and may not extend past the front/sides of the reserved space. MARSH will be inspecting booths for the safety of our guests. Display tanks will be limited to 20g if using the provided tables. Proper tank stands/displays must be brought for larger volumes. If your total volume will be greater than 80g please contact us before completing the application process.  Booth sharing by livestock vendors is NOT permitted.  You can ONLY have one logo and one register.  Please be considerate of our hospitality and don’t take advantage of our non-profit club.




Payment can be made by check, PayPal or charge via PayPal. Booths are only booked or reserved upon receipt of payment. Please make checks payable to:  Marine Aquarium and Reef Society of Houston. Payments and applications must be received by 04/15/2020.  Payments are non-refundable regardless of vendor availability or participation.

Installation & Breakdown


Vendors will have access to the facility for setup and prep from noon -11 pm on Friday 05/1/2020 and after 8 am on Saturday 05/02/2020. Doors will open to MARSH members at 10 am and the general public at 10:30am on Saturday. Vendors are asked to wait until 5pm when the vendor hall closes to begin breakdown of their booths unless otherwise authorized by MARSH. Vendors have until 7pm Saturday to finish breakdown. Vendors are responsible for setup and breakdown of their booth area and it should be free of trash and debris upon departure.


Use of Display Area

Vendors may sell livestock, hard goods, equipment, food and additives as well as distribute information and run demos. If you would like to promote a demo at your booth, please provide information about it in the application.

Rules of Conduct


Vendors not honoring these rules are subject to eviction without refund by MARSH.


Limitation of Liability

Vendors release MARSH, the volunteer staff, the host, guests, participating vendors, speakers and anyone else from being held liable for damage to property, injury to persons or loss of potential sales resulting from fire, water, facility problems, weather, accidents or other reasons at the event.

Vendors will defend and protect MARSH, sponsors, vendors, speakers, the host and others from any and all claims, law suits, demands, liability, losses, damages, additional costs and fees which may result from the vendor’s participation in the event. MARSH, sponsors, vendors, speakers, the host and others will not be held liable under any circumstances for loss of profit or incidental damages for any acts whatsoever. MARSH does not guarantee attendance for the event and under no circumstances will it return any funds for any reason larger than the entry fee.



MARSH is not responsible for theft of property. Booths should be attended by a staff member at all times to reduce the possibility of theft. Under no circumstance will MARSH be responsible for theft. Vendors may not solicit MARSH volunteer staff to watch their booth for breaks or other absences. For vendors setting up displays or acclimating livestock the night before the event, neither MARSH nor the host will be providing security. The facility will be locked at 11pm and re-opened at 8am. MARSH and the host are not responsible for property left overnight.

Observance of Local, State and Federal Laws

Vendors shall observe and abide by all laws, rules and regulations under local, state and federal agencies. All materials and decorations used on displays must meet city fire department standards for inflammability.


Sales & Tax

Vendors are responsible for all transactions and related taxes governing them. Internet access will be provided by the host. Vendors wishing to accept digital payment are responsible for their own cellular and data devices and the fees associated with them. MARSH is not responsible for fraudulent checks or currency exchanged.


Advertising Agreement

By signing the agreement to participate as a vendor, MARSH reserves the right to use the vendor name as noted in the application in our solicitation and advertisement for additional vendors and attendance. Logos and URLs may be displayed at our discretion.


Agreement and Event Termination

MARSH reserves the right to discontinue any vendor’s participation in violation of swap rules and to terminate any agreement, with or without cause, at any time during the term hereof without liability of any kind.

In the event of severe weather, it is the vendor’s responsibility to take all necessary precautions to secure their livestock, equipment, booth, display items and staff. MARSH and the host reserve the right to cancel the event without refund due to weather or other impending event(s) that may compromise the safety of attendees, host, speakers or vendors.


Included Items

Booth purchase includes 2 vendor passes, 1 table and 2 chairs. MARSH will be providing a maximum of 30g water per booth and will not provide extra equipment. Please bring extra equipment in the event of damage during travel or setup to support your livestock.
